ALT Fitness, 42 Cumberland Street, Glasgow G5 9QJ

‘1 Tonne Challenge’ with Uplifted. We are opening our doors to the LGBTQIA+ community, their family, friends and allies to take part in our ’1 Tonne Challenge’ as part of Leap Sports Festival Fortnight.

Open to all genders and experience levels, we will have a coach on hand to help guide you through the lifts. Whether you have lifted before, never touched a barbell or just want to come along to offer support we are here to offer a warm welcome and the opportunity to try out some barbell lifts. The session will be running from 11am-5pm, but participants can drop-in at any point throughout the day and stay for as long as they’d like.

Every kilogram lifted counts towards our goal for the day to collaboratively lift 1 Tonne. All ages welcome to come along to show support but if you need to be over 16 years old to participate in the lifting. T-shirt and snacks included!

“Uplifted provides access to strength training, sport & fitness for people with lived experience of trauma. We work with support workers and experienced coaches to deliver trauma informed strength training, mobility & yoga courses.”
