Scottish National LGBTQI+ Volleyball Tournament

Start your own fun and friendly Volleyball Team with friends or colleagues competing in The First ever Scottish National LGBTQI+ One-day Volleyball Tournament.

This is easy and fun volleyball with a lower net height and a chance to throw in as a serve enables beginners to play at their ease. Already under the Make Mondays Volleyball campaign LGBTQI+ persons are playing at a Monday night Session at City of Glasgow College completely free of charge in a safe inclusive space.

Compete for our beautiful, hand-engraved Silver trophy and take home a souvenir bib and medal. 2019 is the 200th anniversary of the death of James Watt, the 22nd most influential person in the world. For this reason The Scottish National LGBTQI+ Volleyball trophy will be known as The James Watt Cup. Bring your own team of 6 min 12 max with subs to compete for the James Watt Cup.

Play in a prestigious venue with support from Scottish Volleyball as part of the Make Mondays Volleyball Campaign and the start of a permanent LGBTQI+ Volleyball scene in Glasgow on Monday nights. Come to our Glasgow based training on Monday nights and practice, train, learn from others, and have a laugh. Starting from May to limber up for the big day!

If you don’t have a team, come along as an individual and we can form some teams on the day too!

The event is aimed for all. The AM taster session is suitable for the young with parental supervision, pm is for 16+

Not just a one-off, this event is part of a broader aim to make the cup an annual event and to encourage volleyball playing weekly across Scotland to bring the LGBTQI+ community closer together and to improve health and well being.
