Introduction to Hillwalking with Skylark Guiding

Dumgoyne, Strathblane

This event has been postponed – contact the event organisers directly for further information

LGBT Health & Wellbeing have teamed up with Gaby Macbeth from Skylark Guiding to offer a series of guided hill walks for LGBT+ folks wanting to get into the outdoors, meet others and learn new skills.

Our second walk will be at Dumgoyne. The distinctive wee peak of Dumgoyne (north west of Glasgow) has lots of character and makes for a great shorter hill walk. It provides brilliant views of Loch Lomond and the Highlands to the North.

Duration: 5-6 hours (plus travel to/from Glasgow- 50 minutes by bus each way)
Elevation gain: 500m
Distance: 15km (9 miles)
Terrain: farm track and hill path; steep and muddy in sections

Please get in touch if you are unsure about the fitness required for the walk and we can discuss what to expect. We want to ensure that all folks who want to attend this walk are able to, so please email sophie@lgbthealth.org.uk to discuss anything further.

The walk will be guided by experienced and qualified guide Gaby Macbeth of Skylark Guiding. Gaby will take care of route finding and will be carrying an emergency shelter and first aid kit.

15 spaces available. Open to LGBTIQ+ people aged 16+.
